somewhere past the pillars of creation

there's a solitary photon bouncing off your wall

that will cast a shadow on your lifetime

pass across your eyeline mirroring your mind

shadows can be softer under cloud

but on a brighter day reach into the past

carrying a signal to the future

through a looking glass deep into the dark

i am just a shadow on a tree

free as i can be swaying in the breeze

silently i turn and fade away

sleeping under sun til the day is done
